Updates - Part 1
Yup, I joined Phil...I've been wanting to do this for very long time but wasnt able to find the right channel and get myself into singing group. With God Grace...I found Phil last October via FB. Ha! I didn't manage to join last season and it was near misses from the orientation. Then, 2nd chance came when they announced again via FB page they recruiting for 2012.
If someone ask : "what so special bout it?". Well...dono. I think is more like when I'm near to music, there's where my heart belongs. This is my 5th wk with them, the experience just simply amazing. People from walks of life, diff religions, races & ages come together just to share their voices. 4parts, sometimes 5...These people just embrace the gift from God..."Music".
Ha! Pretty much of talking here...I dono how long i will sustain at one place (knowing myself likes to move around & do different stuff ;p) But i guess i shouldnt start thinking when is the end. I have it now, I should enjoy it. This is a good chance to know myself better...music or construction? ;p
to be continue........

....So what will you do with your tin??
haha...i was thinking, y not check it out...hmm...interesting to see how to recycle from the outer tin until the very bit of the inner wrapper...(haha...minus the chocolate which will melt inside the mouth)
check this link : It even tells a little story about the chocolate packaging revolution (should i use this word?? appropriate???) from glass jar to tin.
A simple catchy line on the packaging & a web link on some ideas....i think it sure gives some plus point if the m'sian F&B packaging does the same to promote & help the environment... ^_^

An Evening Talk on Travel & Photography
It was an interesting evening, the talk was conducted in Mandarin & English.. basically with 4 speakers shared their experiences of backpacking in Europe, China, Taiwan & few other destinations. Some with funny encounters, some with acquaintances & so forth.
They gave an overview about what to expect & how to take care of oneself when you are away in a foreign land. The talk open up & encourage participants to travel more in a freer style instead of following the conventional way going on "Tour".
We stayed back after the talk & grabbed a few copies of magazines from them. The photos taken by the club members were astonishing, especially those taken from their annual backpacking trip to Nepal & Xi Zhang. Oya, they organise trips for backpacking as well as photographing. Relatively cheap (ie. 11days to Nepal & Xi Zhang - All in is about RM3-4k)...hmm...maybe...hehe.
Anyway...check out the video..cheers! I'll going back for more talks if whenever there's a chance to do so. Have to thank Chun Man for recommended this to me. ;p

New Adventure on Number puzzles..

Yup,this book about "Kakuro" caught my attention. At first I just thought of flipping through the pages & see what's all about Kakuro. Soon I found myself fond of this number puzzle. ;p
I took the book home, there were 124 puzzles in total & I've been solving it one by one even when I'm typing this post..haha. Is fun, now I've more challenging puzzles to attempt during my free time other than Sudoku.
hmm... I wonder will MSIG organise annual event for Kakuro in future just like the one they have been doing for Sudoku. It sure be fun to take part on this & see how many Kakuro maniac out there. ;)

Going Green with Doubt
Lately, the media has been doing an awareness campaign on water. Poster with statements such as "Do you know 10,000litres of water is needed to prepare dinner for six per day??", "A person uses more than 100litres of water a day"....The statistic shocked me. I knew the water consumption has always been alot with the kind of HOT weather in Malaysia, but I never expect it to be that much.
Now...should I continue using my containers & uses more water?? or should I just ask the stall to pack my food in plastic/styrofoam & create more non-degradable waste?? What can be the best solution that can balance our daily life yet going green to save our world??
Use banana leaves to pack rice & noodles like the olden days perhaps??? Atleast the leaves is biodegradable...what about the soup & porridge then??? haha..tough choice!

Dr Know-it-All !!
I like fun learning...but sometimes what you have been taught may not be true. Some maybe Taboos or some maybe you have learned it from the wrong person & at the wrong time. The classic two examples that i can relate to were :
1) Nasi Goreng Pattaya (Pattaya Fried Rice)
It is one of the popular mamak food in Malaysia with Fried rice wrapped with a thin layer of fried egg. I would say many Malaysian thought it was originated from Pattaya, so do I. It was later that i found out there is no such thing in Pattaya.
2) Spaghetti Balognese
Haha...this one i just found out recently via AFC (Asian Food Channel). Spaghetti Balognese is not from Balogna nor from Italy!!! Even though Balognese Sauce is very famous dish in Italy. I was amused knowing that I believed the wrong stuff all these while.
Hmm.... How many more stuff that i know of are not the actual facts, I wonder????!!! ;p

Family Recipe
So i pleaded my both aunts to teach me during my stay in Taiping last weekend. Time was short, we only managed to cover two recipes...but it was good enough, will continue others my next trip home.
Few things i learned during the process :
A) It only cost less than RM15 for two different recipes - u can feed at least 10persons. (can u imagine how much profit can those kuih sellers making per piece? waoh! good money, can consider doing part time business later..hehe)
B) Its fun to see the end results turned out almost perfect for the 1st time...haha
C) Baking is an art that required patient & love. (putting love into baking will make it taste even better!)
D) Satisfaction - I know why all these while both aunts never reject baking for us, coz is the satisfaction in them when they see us enjoyed the food they made.
E) Baking is about sharing & get together with your love ones.
F) Baking is like story telling - will continue from generation to generation...as long as we dont stop telling. Even when they are no longer around, u will always remember the scene when they baking it & the taste will never be forgotten.
Nway, below are some pics for sharing... ;pFirst Recipe :

The Day I Fall in Love again - Part 2
Tah dah!!! Time to review the truth...hehe...This is my dearest Timex Iroman T54242 running watch. Since early this year i had been looking for a good watch for my running and apparently couldn't find one that suits my budget. Until last September when i was doing shopping one day with Pooi Fern & Gary in Mid Valley, we spotted this in the watch store. The bargain was good, the initial price was RM 239 & I got it at RM175. Well, I'm really happy with this watch...it's light, trendy, in my favourite color & size ,it has the basic features that i wanted & is so much cheaper than my first choice on Swatch. ^_^
Now you know why I said I fall in love again...haha...with my Gadget of course!! I dont need to worry about my other watch which was present to me from getting wet or scratches during sports anymore.

Da Vinci Code alike???

I was surprised to see this article below in one of the online petition website. Slowly Koreans are claiming one after another the Chinese Cultures. Where's the originality?? Who has the rightful say about where the cultures belong?? What will the impact be in the History of humankind?? I wonder..
Stop Helping South Korean Robbing Chinese Traditional Culture Heritage
To: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
For many years, the art of fengshui has been seen as an indispensable part of Chinese traditional culture. But recently, this long standing heritage was challenged when South Korea applied to list the art as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage under its name.

Welcoming 2008
We started playing cards after dinner while waiting to see fireworks when the clock struck 12midnite. The balcony at Gary's hse has a good view of few countdown locations (ie. mid-valley, Amcorp mall, Sunway Pyramid etc) , all of us stand at the balcony for about 15minutes to see fireworks slowly emerged to the sky...it was awesome....holding a cup of chinese tea & having friends around makes me less lonely from what i imagined it could be. The cards game session continued up to 330am & we decided to catch up with some sleep.
It was barely 2hrs after the sleep, all of us dragged outselves up from the cozy bed to get ready for Pacemakers New Year run. Gosh! So difficult to get myself stand up straight & look fresh. HA! in my mind was saying "padam muka Irene, main main sampai tak mau tidur..."
Nway, proceed to next scene - We arrived Tasik Perdana at slightly before 7am...many were already there getting themselves ready for the run. I took my bib & exchanged new year wishes within the group of runners before the race starts.
The run flagged off 730am sharp, men's category has to do 13.8km along the park (6 loops) whereby women's 4.8km..Adam passed me a M'sia flag to carry together while i'm running my 1st loop...haha! i've never hold a big flag on any event before, it tickles me to see how Dear "Mr.flag puts a smile to those visitors at the park whenever i passed by one. My pace was much slower than normal, partly due to lack of sleep & i felt 100tonnes; 1000tonnes maybe a lot more heavier than usual...but i enjoyed thou, told myself dont care if i'm the last to arrive, just have fun..halfway to finishing line, i still managed to catch up on the phone with Alden in UK.The clock just strucked 12mn for him overlooking the London Eye....RESULTS : true enough i was almost consider last if not b'coz the last female behind me injured her ankle...hahaha
It was a nice run, the organiser did a good job organising it. Direction marking was clearly marked with helpers station at various check point; water station with sufficient water & isotonic drink supplied; Malaysian no 1 favourite breakfast aka Nasi Lemak & bananas were over provided to us.
Lucky draw started immediately after prize giving ceremony..out of 10 lucky draws; Han, Houn, Yen & I won 4 of them...haha...what a nice give for new year.
That wasn't all for new year...we went back Gary's hse again after breakfast to spent the whole afternoon at his place chit-chatting & playing cards before meeting up Little khoo, Mien Yee, Cherie & Kit for steamboat dinner at Sunway. It was the first time for Mien Yee, Cherie & Kit to this "Yuen Steamboat Restaurant". They were amused by the crowd chasing over the grilled honey chicken wings...check this video posted in youtube..is crazy! "if u are fast, u get to eat...if u are slow & small in size...sorry la!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_113zyLzto&NR=1
Well, dinner ended around 8pm. I droved home half asleep..took a quick hot showel & call the nite off. That's my new year day...eventful & memorable.
